About Us

Whitesel Church Organs sells, services, tunes, repairs, reconditions, and rebuilds electronic and pipe organs. Whitesel Organs now has over 1,100 organs installed throughout Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Washington D.C., and Southern Pennsylvania. Our large team of qualified pipe and electronic technicians works diligently to keep them meticulously maintained and serviced.
Norman Whitesel Church Organs was founded by Norman A. Whitesel in the spring of 1948. He began his humble roots as one of the first, and eventually one of the longest running, Allen Organ Dealers in the history of that company. Norman established the foundation of the business by installing the first electronic organs ever in the historic Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. In the late 60's, Mr. Whitesel brought Carroll Motsinger, an ordained minister, under his wing to take over the business.
Over the next 35 years, Carroll installed a massive number of organs while extending the reach of the business throughout the mid-atlantic region. He taught his family that the best interests of a company should never be put above that of the church. He made drastic changes esspecially in regards to the electronic organs the company installed. As the technology of the rest of the world advanced greatly, Carroll watched the electronic organ industry sit still, and do nothing to create something better than a 'copy' or 'sample' of a sound. Now, 22 years later, (in our opinion) the rest of the organ industry is still installing obsolete sampled sound based organs, by repackaging them with a new and catchy model name. He recognized that he must make the changes necessary to bring the company into the next generation of family ownership, and properly into the 21st century.
Carroll's Grandson, Joshua Dove, has been president of the company since 2007. He was taught that his family is the caretaker of Norman Whitesel's vision and ministry. Joshua has expanded the service area to cover the entire Mid-Atlantic Region for Electronic and Digital Organs, and the entire United States for Pipe Organ Sales and Service. Norman Whitesel Church Organs is the exclusive US National Representative for Mascioni Pipe Organ Builders of Italy. With over 1,100 pipe organs throughout the world, the Mascioni is in its 6th generation and 184th year of mastering pipe organ building. Through an unprecedented partnership with Jordan Kitt's Music, Whitesel Church Organs now services the Mid-Atlantic region with three locations. The two companies together bring you 165 years of combined experience in music ministry.
By choosing to work with Whitesel Church Organs, you are choosing first class service through the sales process and support for decades into the future. Your church will be purchasing an instrument that Whitesel Church Organs considers a piece of art, and created solely for the purpose of bringing grace to God in the highest.
